Description

Individual bespoke sessions looking at acting through song.  Great for focussing on audition material or if you want a safe space to explore singing, voice and acting through song.
Using the text of the song, grounding and presence exercises, Vanessa will help you explore your relationship to singing and song; building a deeper connection and confidence. Equally useful for beginners wanting to explore their voice, established performers looking to revitalize audition material or anyone interested in a deeper exploration to your singing and acting.
These sessions are for you if you are looking to unlock your potential and freedom when singing. To investigate and play with your song in new and fresh ways. Vanessa focusses on the present and finding the truth of the song, working from an acting and imaginative view point. This is not a singing techniques class.
Vanessa has over twenty years experience including musical theatre, theatre and tv/film. She trained as an actress at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and in musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. She currently teaches and directs in drama schools- MPAA academy, ArtsEd, NOS. She is the co-founder of Meisner in Song.
What: Exploring your connection to voice and song through an embodied acting approach.
Who: Open to anyone from beginners to established performers
“Vanessa has an instinctive organic way of working, I felt totally at ease with her approach. I left her class feeling vocally liberated. Her colour exercise is going to transform my technique”
(Victoria Evaristo Actor Director, drama tutor)

“Vanessa’s class is great.
I have lost confidence in singing (I have done many musicals in the past)
& it was so good to feel a little bit of confidence returning in a safe space,
Vanessa has such a great approach to repertoire and it was fascinating to try new things.
Highly recommended”

“The workshop flew by and it was a great and safe environment to play and experiment in”.
