With this 16 page jewel of a play – Chekhov’s The Bear – we learn to connect our
performance to Energy, Intuition, and Spontaneity, led by the vastly experienced
and “inspirational” Andrea Brooks.
Andrea helps actors unplug their own “CCTV” and unleash their intuition in connection with their “acting twin” – the origin of creativity, mischief, vulnerability and authentic performance, which invigorates actor and audience alike.

If you have time, feel free to learn monologues or small chunks of text (ideally use the Elizaveta Fen translation). If not, we will explore some moments in the text without dialogue. We will begin by looking at prepared work. We will then “do the work” and close the day with a sharing of scenes we’ve worked on during the session.
Your take-aways? Opportunities to perform! Tools to transfer to any script; a love for Chekhov; renewed faith in your own spontaneity and in wider humanity. Not bad for a day’s work!
