Description
Suitable for all levels. Whether you really love to dance or this is an aspect of performance you’d like to feel more comfortable with, this workshop is great fun. Progressing from basic warm-up routines to group dance pieces, participants will get in tune with their bodies, gain confidence in following choreography and experience upliftment and breakthroughs.
The workshop will include a dynamic group piece set to Afro-Celtic fusion and a slower routine incorporating soft floorwork.
Rosalind Parker started life as a dancer before training as an actress at Rose Bruford College and has worked in theatre for over 25 years as a performer, movement director, playwright and theatre-maker. She has created and performed three solo physical-theatre shows and, for nearly 20 years, has run The Bedlam Bunch, writing and directing immersive comedy theatre and pantomimes. She also founded Outburst Theatre, creating community and site-specific work including the intergenerational production Catford 1968. Ros has trained with Gecko and Frantic Assembly, is a member of the Shapes in Motion collective, and has taught movement at Identity Drama School and Sadler’s Wells. She is currently developing Beautiful Magic on God’s Earth, a new work created through her shamanic practice, combining dance, storytelling, live music and ensemble physical theatre.
