Description
Through games, exercises, and improv, this drop-in clown workout class will give performers an opportunity to continue nurturing both their play and presence on stage.
A challenging yet fulfilling practice that will inspire performers to embrace ‘the flop’, discover what makes them uniquely funny and build useful instincts for playing with an audience. Without pre-written punchlines or a fourth wall, how can you be your most ridiculous honest self and make us laugh with just your charm?
An encouraging and supportive space to develop skills such as:
- presence, spontaneity and responsiveness
- audience sensitivity
- resilience through failure
- improvisation
- status and clown chemistry
- recognising and building on your successes
This class is for actors, improvisers, comedians and anyone curious enough to get on their feet and really go for it! To get the most out of it, participants are expected to have at least some prior experience with clown or improv.

Testimonials from previous workshop participants:

‘Everything was taught so clearly and openly, it just felt as though I could experiment and work freely in the class.’
‘I loved the receptive, playful energy that comes with clowning, even under absurd circumstances. This engagement with the audience is very useful as an actor.’
