Description
Introducing different approaches and techniques that are useful in exploring
the notion of a character, and help to empower the actor in their approach to
charactersation. We will expiore different approaches of various practitioners
such as Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov and Jacques Lecog/Phillippe Gaulier
using some of their practical techniques and exercises in working towards
character. We will use different physical qualities, which inspire character,
focusing on tension levels as a useful and practical tool; and we shall also
work with masks as a basic tool to develop and define characters.
Ariella is a theatre director, workshop leader teacher and a facilitator based in
London. She taught at the Actors Centre from 2002 until it has closed
down.She is also a tutor/ workshop leader in the UK and internationally.
She also taught and led workshops in some acting schools including
Mountview, Italia Conti, East 15 and DSL and currently working at the City Lit,
City Academy and London Actors Workshop.
As a director she worked on many productions along the years.

Ariella was the artistic director of Tik-sho-ret Theatre company which gives a
platform to Israeli and Jewish plays in the UK and create projects around
themes of communication and co-existence .
