Description

If you have ever wondered how to get your ideas of a role into reality then this class is for you. How do we turn the dream of how it would be to play the part into an embodied reality?

This class will help!

Based on thirty years of acting, teaching, and directing in fringe, Hollywood, RSC, and beyond, Ed Woodall has distilled what he has learned into a method called The Grid.

You take an idea, you allow yourself to move it. You expand on the movement and then you draw it! You recreate the movement in sound and then you apply it to the text, to the character, or to the intention and you will be amazed at how much more talented you are than you think.

Bring a short text to work on and clothes you can move easily in.

Ed is an actor, director and teacher.

He trained with Jacques Lecoq.

He has worked in Hollywood, with RSC/NT, and with leading devised companies, Complicite, Kneehigh and Improbable.

Ed has taught at East 15, RADA, Central and LAMDA.

He was the applied movement tutor at Oxford School of Drama from 2009-2019.

He is a trained and experienced Feldenkrais practitioner and has recently had Shakespeare and Lecoq published by Bloomsbury.

“Ed Woodall is thrilling, surprising, skilled and generous in equal measure. Whatever he is doing, it works!”

Emma Rice.

“Ed Woodall is a shining lantern of creativity. Creativity and curiosity flow from him like light from a bulb.”

Tom Morris.
