This four – session intensive is an opportunity to apply the core Meisner exercise of repetition and movement to working with text.
Together, we’ll explore how to bring greater presence, authentic connection, spontaneity and impulse to scripted scenes, allowing the text to come alive through genuine moment-to-moment experience rather than predetermined choices.
Too often, when we work with text, we slip back into familiar acting habits—trying to decide in advance how a scene should be played instead of allowing our partner, the circumstances and the moment to reveal what is actually happening between the characters. This workshop is about discovering how to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances, using the principles of the Meisner Technique to unlock fresh, honest and surprising performances.
This course is open to actors with basic understanding and experience of the Repetition exercise.
