Working With Pinter - THE HOMECOMING
This is a three day course.

Join Harry Burton for a three-day exploration of Harold Pinter’s masterpiece THE HOMECOMING, nowadays arguably more troubling than ever. Is it an indictment of misogyny, or a celebration of it?
THE HOMECOMING was the playwright’s personal favourite, about which he said: “It’s about love and lack of love. The people are harsh and cruel to be sure. Still they aren’t acting arbitrarily but for very deep-seated reasons….They behave pretty horribly, but always out of the texture of their lives and for other reasons which are not evil but slightly desperate... I love and detest the lot of them.”

Harry Burton has been acting, directing and coaching for forty years. Highlights of his acting career include playing Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady at Drury Lane, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls at the Crucible, singing the title role of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro on BBC2, as well as many leading roles in Shakespeare at the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park. His West End directing credits include The Dumb Waiter, Barking In Essex, The Leisure Society, I Found My Horn, The Dog Walker. Harry's close association with Harold Pinter saw him bring Pinter to the Actors Centre to take part in workshops with the membership. This in turn led to Harry directing the Channel 4 documentary Working With Pinter. Harry has been offering Working With Pinter workshops at UK drama schools and internationally for twenty years.
