Acting American with Georgia Goodman

Times: 10am-1pm each day

This is a two part course.

Accents don't live in the mouth — they live in the body. This workshop is designed for actors who want to move beyond drills and exercises and put their American accent to work where it really counts: inside a scene.

Drawing on material from film and television, we'll work with scenes that carry real emotional weight — because it's in those heightened moments of conflict, vulnerability, and urgency that an accent is most likely to slip. The goal is to stop managing the accent and start living in it, grounding the sound in character, impulse, and intention.

Actors will be paired ahead of the first session and given a scene to prepare together. In the second class, you can continue developing that scene or bring something new — either way, the work builds.

Whether you're preparing for an audition, a specific role, or simply want to make your American accent feel like second nature, this is a space to do the real work.

Georgia Goodman is a London-based actress with a background in screen and stage, expanding into stage production as one-half of producing duo for the Eagle & Beaver Ensemble, a North American theatre company. Her diverse heritage and upbringing have allowed her to play multilayered characters, embodying different cultures.

Ethnic ambiguity is her superpower. Rather than leaning into spectacle, Goodman has built a career defined by substance, consistently drawn to roles that offer complexity, dignity, and psychological depth. She has long understood that her multicultural appearance and range of accents aren't obstacles — they're exactly what major American productions are looking for.

That clarity of USP has opened significant doors. She has appeared in large-scale productions including LokiWednesday, and Uncharted, holding her own in ensemble casts that demand both versatility and presence. She can currently be seen at cinemas in the core ensemble of Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die opposite Sam Rockwell, and has also just wrapped a supporting lead role in action film Last Resort opposite Mason Gooding. You can also catch her in the 2nd season of BBC series We Might Regret This.

Trained in Vancouver and the UK, and a passionate advocate for diversity on screen, Goodman is proof that knowing exactly what you bring to the room — and refusing to apologise for it — is its own form of craft.
