Description
Come and sing with us!
A weekly session for anyone who wants to explore their voice, have fun, learn to harmonise and build community through singing.
No auditions. No previous experience needed, no need to read music — we’ll learn predominantly by ear, making it easy to join in and find your way into the music.
We’ll sing a mix of songs from different genres, explore what our voices can do and, most importantly, sing together.
This is an open, welcoming and playful choir with an emphasis on exploration, connection and the joy of making music together.
By the end of the season we might even have a few carols ready to share at the Christmas party.
The choir is led by Vanessa Havell. Vanessa is an actor, singer, and teacher. She trained as an actor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and as a musical theatre performer at the Royal Academy of Music. She works in theatre, musical theatre, television, and film. She ran The Marjorie Belles, a vintage harmony trio for many years performing all over the UK and abroad. She currently teaches Acting and Acting through Song at MPAA Academy. She also teaches at Arts Ed, runs workshops and has her own private practice. Previously she ran group singing sessions at Questors theatre. She co-created and leads Meisner in Song workshops with colleague, Kate Maravan.
