Are you a female actor who would love to get her teeth into a male role? Or are you already exploring male roles and you’d like to take that exploration deeper? Inspired by my work on the Phyllida Lloyd’s All Female Shakespeare Trilogy and her year long project – Dangerous Space: a safe space to do dangerous acts – working with 36 women of diverse nationality, ethnicity and age on playing male roles in Shakespeare. This workshop gives female actors the chance to work on a male roles. It will explore how these roles can be approached vocally, physically and textually. Please choose a short male monologue from any Shakespeare play – maximum 2mins. Please bring a copy with punctuation- from any published version.
