Description
In this 3-hour workshop students will get the opportunity to learn the fundamental components of the Meisner technique and experience how they can be utilised for the camera. Actors can often get distracted by the camera or pressured to not “over-act” (a term every actor dreads hearing). Within this workshop you will be guided to shift your attention from these distractions and inhibitions to a point outside of yourself, thereby making it easier to achieve Meisner’s goal to ‘live truthfully under imaginary circumstances’. Once you have practiced the technical components we will try putting this to practice within a scene. Scenes will be handed out a week prior to the workshop for you to learn.
The class is run by Director & Acting Coach, Craig McKenzie. Craig works for The London Meisner Company and freelances at Central School of Speech and Drama, East 15, LIPA. GSA, and NFTS. As a director he works in Film, Commercial, Theatre, and Musical Theatre under his production company, Mint Face.
