Ibsen’s female characters are among the most revolutionary, psychologically complex figures in the history of theatre. Rather than presenting them as perfect feminist heroes, Ibsen painted complex human beings torn between social duty, intense inner desires, and the terrifying price of personal freedom
This is practical performance based workshop exploring female characters in three of his plays. The Dolls House, Hedda Gabbler and Rosmersholm.
Michael Eriera is an actor, director and teacher. He is currently teaching workshops at Identity School Of Acting. He has taught classes at many other drama schools. Recently appeared for the National Theatre in The Lehman Trilogy directed by Sam Mendes.
After a short introduction we will get straight into working on character and performing scenes. All scripts provided by Michael.
As an addendum, Male actors are also welcome as duologues with M/F characters are included.
